The Coastal Humane Society is a local, all-volunteer, non-profit organization with the goal of ensuring that no one on the Outer Banks is forced to give up a pet because of financial hardship. We coordinate with other animal organizations, veterinarians, businesses, and, most recently, Dare County Department of Social Services (DCDSS). 

Our programs include spaying and neutering of dogs and cats, providing emergency medical assistance when pet owners are faced with unforeseen medical costs, and underwriting vaccination programs. In addition, we are now providing pet food and supplies to Dare County Social Services for distribution to our senior pet owners who are having financial difficulties.
